Positive Impact

Positive Impact Initiative provides support to develop programs that have a positive impact in critical areas in the Delta.

  • PreK-12 Education - Recruit and train teachers; increase accountability for school and student performance; and develop autonomous and new schools, i.e., charter schools.
  • Economic Development - Support programs that focus on spurring local economies.

Geographic Concentration

Geographic Concentration Initiative aims to support various educational and community-based interventions in a geographically concentrated area with the goal of achieving measurable, sustainable and replicable improvement in quality-of-life issues. Specifically, the Foundation supports educational, economic and community initiatives, primarily in St. Francis and Phillips Counties in Arkansas and Leflore County, Mississippi.

  • PreK-12 Education - Recruit and train teachers; increase accountability for school and student performance; provide incentives for schools and students to improve; make school information more transparent to parents and the public; and develop autonomous and new schools, i.e., charter schools.
  • Economic and Leadership Development and Civic Engagement - Lower unemployment and poverty rates and raise per capita income; increase home ownership and financial viability; improve the health of individuals and families; develop and support new leaders, among both youth and adults; and build capacity for sustained philanthropy in the community.
