From School Choice to Educational Choice

"From School Choice to Educational Choice" in American Enterprise Institute's Education Outlook, April 2011, asserts that education reform must move away from the current "whole-school" approach and focus instead on ways to unbundle education, fundamentally changing how schools are structured and content delivered to meet the needs of students in the 21st century. Specifically, this means allowing parents and students to select from among a number of service providers to build packages of instruction that are uniquely tailored to their needs, rather than the current approach of offering bundled packages of instruction that we call "schools."
