Northwest Arkansas
The Foundation invests in projects that enhance the quality of life in the Walton family's home territory of Northwest Arkansas. A better quality of life enables area businesses and industries to attract and retain employees, helping the local economy grow and prosper.
Specifically, the Foundation supports educational, economic, community, cultural and environmental initiatives, primarily in Benton and Washington Counties.

Education
The goal of the Education Initiative is to make local public K-12 schools world class. Programs should place an emphasis on forging regional partnerships, using community task forces and measuring performance against national benchmarks for high-performing schools. They should be centered around the principles of accountability, transparency, choice and incentives.
