2017 Parks and Green Space Competition Application and Eligibility

Now entering its third year, the Northwest Arkansas Design Excellence Program promotes the highest level of design in the development of future public buildings and spaces in Arkansas’ Benton and Washington counties.

The program is committed to elevating the quality of design in the region. As a key investment to enhance the quality of life for residents, the Design Excellence Program will focus on public spaces in 2017.  

The Home Region Program’s 2020 Strategic Plan aims to preserve a sense of place by supporting projects that increase preserved and maintained public green space, such as parks, public gardens, plazas, greenways, school yards, streets, water bodies and nature preserves. 

The 2017 application period for parks, green spaces and plazas has ended. 

Applicants that are invited to complete a comprehensive grant application will be notified on September 15, 2017. 

Awards will be announced November 15, 2017. 

Note: Applications to join the pool of architects for the Northwest Arkansas Design Excellence Program will open in 2018. Please email design@wffmail.com to be notified when the application period opens.
