2017 Parks and Green Space Competition Application and Eligibility
Now entering its third year, the Northwest Arkansas Design Excellence Program promotes the highest level of design in the development of future public buildings and spaces in Arkansas’ Benton and Washington counties.
The program is committed to elevating the quality of design in the region. As a key investment to enhance the quality of life for residents, the Design Excellence Program will focus on public spaces in 2017.
The Home Region Program’s 2020 Strategic Plan aims to preserve a sense of place by supporting projects that increase preserved and maintained public green space. Local governments and nonprofits are invited to submit project applications for parks, green spaces and plazas now through June 30, 2017. Eligible projects may include but are not limited to parks, public gardens, plazas, greenways, school yards, streets, water bodies and nature preserves. Selected projects will be invited to submit a comprehensive grant application for the Design Excellence Program.
The Walton Family Foundation invites proposals based on the criteria outlined below.

Applicants that are invited to complete a comprehensive grant application will be notified on September 15, 2017.
Awards will be announced November 15, 2017.
