Melinda is a senior program officer for the K-12 Education Program, focusing on the foundation’s grantmaking in Louisiana and nationally. Before joining the foundation, she was the vice president of The Collective and senior vice president for alumni diversity at Teach For America. Prior to her role at Teach For America, Melinda served as an associate director of admissions, director of diversity and student life at the Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut. Melinda was a 1994 TFA Corps Member. She also served as the head coach of Howard University’s women’s lacrosse program.
Melinda has a Bachelor of Arts in Africana studies from Cornell University, a certificate in international human rights law from Oxford University and a Masters of Art in history and public policy from George Washington University. She also has a Juris Doctorate from George Washington University Law School.
