To improve fishery management plans (Planes de Manejos, or PdMs) for four benthic fisheries as tools for change toward sustainable fisheries; to reduce the risk of failed implementation by enhancing the scientific knowledge used in management of each fishery, building capacity among stakeholders, and incorporating the ecosystem-based approach.
To support grantee's expenses of establishing itself in Mexico, including opening an office, hiring an executive director and, working closely with the foundation and partners, building a work plan for the organization that aligns with the foundation's strategy to improve fisheries management in Mexico.
