Christie Yang is the Interim General Counsel of the Walton Family Foundation. She is responsible for overseeing the foundation's legal, compliance, and governance needs. Prior to joining the foundation, Christie was Associate General Counsel at the Brookings Institution, a Washington, D.C.-based public policy organization, where she advised five research programs and helped navigate complex legal issues across three foreign offices and strategic partnerships worldwide. Before that, Christie spent five years as an intellectual property and white-collar litigator in the Palo Alto and Washington, D.C. offices of the law firm Morrison & Foerster LLP, where she represented tech and financial services clients in high-stakes litigation and investigations.
Christie serves on the leadership team for the Association of Corporate Counsel Nonprofit Organizations Network. Christie earned her bachelor’s degree in art history from Yale University and her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
