Marnie Riddle

Program Officer, Environment Program

Marnie is a program officer for the Environment Program. In this role, she works to strengthen legal protections and water governance to improve the health of watersheds, wetlands and water quality. 

Marnie formerly served as an Associate General Counsel (Energy, Environment, and Installations) at the Department of Defense, following several years at the Department of the Navy as a civilian environmental attorney. Before her work with Navy, Marnie received a year-long NOAA Sea Grant John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship, advising the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy on ocean and coastal matters. She began her career as an environmental litigator in California, representing community groups and municipal water utilities.

Marnie holds a B.S. from Duke University, a J.D. from Berkeley Law School, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
