Ocean Strategies
To work with key actors in the seafood industries improving the educational opportunities for industry officials related to the importance of ocean conservation - in particular the economic and ecological importance of sustainable fisheries
To support strengthening the capacity of key actors (i.e., fishers, municipal and national government officials, and local communities) and advocate for the design and approval of an ordinance focused on co-management of coastal artisanal fisheries
To provide short-term funding to cover losses related to a decrease in membership revenues and launch a campaign to support U.S. fisheries and seafood companies in building demand for seafood
To bring attention to the consequences of agricultural pollution for drinking water and quality of life, build capacity of organizations in the upper Mississippi River basin to communicate and advocate on water quality issues, and explore innovative approaches to improve the durability of conservation efforts, including remote sensing of cover crops
To support the Global Alliance for the Future of Food to leverage resources in order to shift food systems toward greater sustainability, security, and equity
To provide stop gap funding to six essential grantees of the Blue Abadi Fund chosen by Conservation International, with a focus on resuming enforcement and patrol activities in the Birds Head Seascape
