Kara Stevens

Senior SLED Officer, Environment Program

Kara Stevens is a senior strategy, learning and evaluation officer for the Walton Family Foundation’s Environment Program, where she helps generate insights on the progress and impact of the foundation’s work. She partners with program staff and external collaborators to strengthen learning, evaluation and adaptation across the program.

Previously, Kara worked at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and has conducted research on small-scale fisheries in Nicaragua, supported national park development in Afghanistan and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nepal.

Kara holds a Ph.D. in fisheries science from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Science in ecology and evolutionary biology from the University of Tennessee.
