To strengthen and expand grantee's sustainability standard that can be applied to any fishery and build demand for certified products by demonstrating the impact of certification and the economic value it provides
To support grantee's initiative to acquire and manage water rights for restoration projects throughout the Colorado River Delta, work with partner organizations to implement the Minute 323 agreement between Mexico and the U.S., continue development of capacity and governance for the grantee and its water trust functions, and complete restoration of 155 acres at the El Chausse restoration site.
To improve fishery management plans (Planes de Manejos, or PdMs) for four benthic fisheries as tools for change toward sustainable fisheries; to reduce the risk of failed implementation by enhancing the scientific knowledge used in management of each fishery, building capacity among stakeholders, and incorporating the ecosystem-based approach.
To support efforts to develop partnerships between urban areas and farmers to improve water quality to meet drinking water standards and avoid water treatment downstream in Illinois and Iowa
To help launch the Mosaic project, which will invest in strengthening field-wide connections and shared resources that enable people and organizations to work together
To support Future of Fish in integrating social and economic benefits into fishery improvement projects (FIPs) in order to expand funding to FIPs beyond environmental funders
To identify challenges in the implementation of the U.S. Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP); and, working in partnership with World Wildlife fund, to improve SIMP implementation, impact, data collection and fisheries monitoring in seafood producing countries
