The Ramble

A 12-acre cultural arts corridor in downtown Fayetteville

Grantee: City of Fayetteville

Design Firm: Nelson Byrd Woltz

The Ramble is a reimagining of nearly 50 acres of public space in downtown Fayetteville that enhances walkability, environmental sustainability, and cultural engagement. The Lower Ramble includes a canopy walk in the Fay Jones Woods, a creek restoration, overlook, and improved access to the Razorback Greenway trail. Low impact street improvements parallel to the Greenway provide two linear connections between the Lower Ramble and the Upper Ramble, which is a central gathering lawn and urban event stage along a main downtown street that also features a pedestrian promenade and tree allée, shade pavilion, art gardens and two future anchor buildings. Designed to connect neighborhoods, cultural institutions, and natural features, The Ramble is the first SITES-certified project in Arkansas.
