Annelise Shepherd is a communications officer for the Walton Family Foundation’s Environment Program, where she helps share the team’s work to protect water resources and build climate resilience through strategic storytelling, strong partnerships and a focused grant portfolio. She collaborates closely with program and communications staff to ensure messages reach the right audiences and support lasting impact.

Before joining the foundation, she served as Director of Communications & Advocacy for two construction-based trade associations in Colorado. Her work focused on messaging, member engagement and public awareness campaigns.

She holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in environmental policy, management and law from the University of Colorado Denver and a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
