Program Officer, Environment Program

Cara Eisel is a program officer for the Walton Family Foundation’s Environment Program, where she supports policy work to advance climate-resilient fisheries. Her work focuses on advancing climate resilience in the management of U.S. fisheries and supporting import control rules in the United States, the EU and Japan to prevent the trade of illegal, unreported and unregulated seafood.

Before joining the foundation, Cara supported international development projects at the International Food Policy Research Institute and USAID.

Cara holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in nonprofit management from George Mason University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Georgia Southern University. Cara is based in Washington, D.C.
