Ian Shelledy is the senior program lead for the Environment Program's Market Initiative. In this role, Ian leads efforts to help businesses, investors and other decision-makers support solutions that work with the power of nature. His work focuses on strengthening the partnerships, financing approaches, and market conditions needed to help these solutions move from promising examples to widespread practice.

Before joining the foundation, Ian served as chief operating officer of the Community Foundation of Utah. Earlier in his career, Ian co-founded Sustainable Startups, a nonprofit incubator and accelerator supporting early-stage social entrepreneurs tackling complex environmental and community challenges.

Ian holds a master’s degree focused in sustainable development and collaborative governance from Colorado State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Portland.
