Ian Shelledy is a program officer for the Walton Family Foundation’s Environment Program, where he works to catalyze innovative financing solutions and corporate commitments for water and nature. His projects focus on developing the data, tools, approaches and partnerships to scale private-sector investment in natural solutions that enhance river and ocean health.
Before joining the foundation, Ian served as chief operating officer of the Community Foundation of Utah. Earlier in his career, Ian co-founded Sustainable Startups, a nonprofit incubator and accelerator supporting early-stage social entrepreneurs tackling complex environmental and community challenges.
Ian holds a master’s degree focused in sustainable development and collaborative governance from Colorado State University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Portland.
