By 2025 Gen Alpha will become the largest generation yet, making up 2 billion of the world’s population. This generation is also the first to grow up at a time when play and creation cross fully into the metaverse. This trend is called creation gaming, where players build their digital world as much as they play in it.
Walton Family Foundation partner, Bodacious, recently surveyed over 2,000 Gen Alpha Roblox and Minecraft users about this trend. The survey asked players what they believe creation gaming does for their education and development. Gamers were positive about a future where creation gaming is used in the classroom, specifically in subjects like art and math. Outside of education, these users also believe creation gaming helps them develop skills such as team work and problem solving.
