Senior SLED Officer, Environment Program

Martha Silver is a senior officer for the Strategy, Learning and Evaluation department supporting the Environment Program. In this role, she partners with program staff to evaluate the impacts of foundation investments to support learning and decision-making.

Martha has over twenty years of experience in wildlife conservation, environmental policy, strategic planning, climate adaptation, program evaluation, and strategic learning. Before joining the foundation in 2015, she worked as the senior conservation planner for Defenders of Wildlife.

Originally from Wisconsin, Martha now lives in Washington, D.C. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Yale University and a Master of Science in Sustainable Development and Conservation Biology from the University of Maryland.
