Teachers’ job satisfaction is deeply tied to the support they receive. According to a new Gallup report, 77% of teachers who say they have the materials they need to do their jobs are satisfied with their school as a workplace. Only 44% of those without adequate materials report the same. The report also finds that collaborative planning, peer observation and teacher voice in professional development are some of the most valuable but underutilized supports. These findings affirm a core Walton Family Foundation belief: that students benefit when we invest in teachers’ growth and working conditions.
