A new Walton Family Foundation-Gallup survey finds that many teachers are managing growing demands with limited clarity and support. Fewer than half say expectations for teaching excellence are fully realistic, and 77% of teachers facing unrealistic expectations report frequent burnout.
The research also points to uncertainty around AI in schools. Six in 10 teachers use AI for work, yet most say they receive little or no guidance on using it for tutoring, grading or lesson planning.
Clear expectations, practical support and strong communication can help more teachers thrive and stay in the profession.
